Accuracy tests with ABB robots
In the automotive manufacturing business an important factor in the success of any new model will be the cycle-time for the line when it is built - this will determine a number of factors, not least the efficiency and performance of the line. Accuracy tests with ABB robots, conducted by ABB, showed CSR using RRS was within 1.2% of the actual values. Even more impressive, CSR performed the best of the simulation systems under test.
Optimising the efficiency of automated lines in Nissan's UK plant
Robots have been a feature of the Nissan Sunderland plant since it was first opened in 1984. Today it uses both Fanuc and Nachi robots on its Primera, Almera and Micra lines, for welding, handling, and painting operations. CimStation Robotics (CSR) software was first used in the lead up to production of the new Primera in 2001. It has since been used to support engineering study and off-line robot teach on a number of new model programs, and also to support increased productivity on current model lines.
Boeing uses CSR simulations to raise productivity of large
riveting machine for fuselage assemblies
Leading aerospace company Boeing is using CimStation Robotics and SoftMachine simulation software from Applied Computing & Engineering to increase the productivity of large riveting machines used in the construction of aircraft fuselage assemblies at its Kansas production facility.
DaimlerChrysler uses Cmmsimulator to verify CMM programs at Mercedes Technology Centre
Automotive manufacturer, DaimlerChrysler is using Cmmsimulator, the 3D coordinate measurement machine (CMM) simulation program, to verify programs for tactile CMMs at its Mercedes Technology Centre (MTC) in Sindelfingen, Germany.
