Aerospace Stress, Fatigue & Damage Tolerance

 

Applied Computing & Engineering Limited, a multi-national, global engineering services company in the aerospace, automotive, nuclear, and other industries, requires Stress and Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) engineers with domain and CAD/CAE tools experience.  You must be able to perform hand calculations and use computer aided techniques to carry out detailed strength and stiffness analysis of aerospace structures.  Familiarity with commercial FEA solvers such as MSC.Nastran is required as well as a thorough understanding of the aerospace design process.

 

  • Hand and computer aided detailed strength and stiffness analysis of lightweight structures
  • Familiarity of one or more commercially available finite element programs such as MSC.Nastran and pre/post processors such as MSC.Patran
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the aerospace design, analysis, materials and process techniques
  • Produce engineering drawings
  • Support static and dynamic testing using solvers such as MSC.Nastran
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings and competent use of electronic media to convey engineering information; produce concise reports for delivery to clients
  • Write up work clearly, concisely and fully referenced
  • Hand calculations using spreadsheets (preferably Mathcad)
  • Minimum qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with experience in the aerospace industry (minimum two years)

Salary: £24,000 to £30,000

 

Location: West Country and North West England
